Screw Home Business… Hit Reset

by admin on January 19, 2010

So yesterday I told you my inspiration for hitting the reset button in my home business. Today, I’d like to explain where I’m coming from.

Literally for the last 3 and a half years, I have been searching for the right home business. You may still be on this journey, but I can say without a doubt, that I have found my home… and it’s not what you think…

Prior to a couple of months ago, if you had read my old blog, you would’ve read about how great X, Y, and Z business was… because I definitely have been around! Ha!

The home business industry is rife with people like me… wanting their next fix, wanting that next home based business that will be the magic bullet. Wanting the next home business to give them that rush of excitement as you unfold the possibilities of freedom, both financial and time.

But isn’t it interesting when you stop for a moment and truly STOP.

Stop chasing the rainbows. Stop chasing the greener pastures. Stop chasing the better comp plans. Stop trying to find the better “teams”, the better “training”… blah blah blah…

Stop and assess.

Assess your assets, both intellectual and strategic. Assess what you’ve really learned from all that training and mentorship. Assess what value you really have!

(And if you can’t come up with a laundry list of assets that you have, then shame on you! You’ve had a hobby and haven’t been treating your business like a business… but more importantly, you haven’t taken yourself seriously to really see what it takes to be successful.)

Anyway, that’s what I did a couple of months ago. And I’m so grateful that I did.

THAT, my friend, is why burning the ships and letting go of my old blog posts (when the database was lost) was such a sigh of relief.

What a joy it is just to look forward, be grateful for the past, but learn the lessons to apply to the future.

If you’re reading this, then you definitely can feel where I’m coming from.

Tomorrow, I’ll begin giving you one of the many tips that created my online SEO business success. One of the many tips that, when you join me for the journey, just may give you the inspiration and courage to start your own.

Contrary to many Network Marketing Leader’s hype, Freedom isn’t finding a new home business, or joining the right team, or finding the right training. Freedom, be it time or financial, is fought for… And the fight starts with yourself!

Join me and I promise to leave no stone unturned. Just so you know, 2010 is my year to give back. And you just happen to be the recipient.

Till tomorrow…

Sharing home business success,

Mia

Today is as good a day as any to hit the reset button…

While you might be thinking, she’s talking about the new year. It is in fact, January 18th, 2010. However, that is not what I’m referring to.

In reality, I can best let you know what it is that I’m resetting by telling you a short story…

This morning, I finally set myself down to deal with my problem. I have been working so hard on assisting others, that I haven’t given myself the chance to deal with my problem! The one that’s been looming over my head and the one that I’ve been thinking about each day.

My website. I’ve lost all my data on my website.

Now if you’ve been on the internet like I have, building my personal brand for the past 3 and a half years, you feel my pain.

I had old posts there. From all the businesses I’ve been in, and a lot of lessons learned.

But when I attempted to retrieve the infamous lost database (for this website) today, I ran into  lots of errors. So many that I finally had to stop beating my head against the wall.

It felt really good to stop and take a breath.

I took a break and decided to consult one of the my most important teachers in my life. My 4 year old daughter, Callie!

I asked her if she were Optimus Prime (she loves Transformers), and had all the super-powers in the world, would she go back to the old equipment and weapons she had before?

Her answer came swiftly and solidified my decision!

“No, of course not!” she said with a half smile as if I were crazy.

I love her!

Anyway, just wanted to share this with you because if you’re beating yourself up over something that may not be as important as you think… just hit the reset button… or ask a 4 year old :)

Tomorrow, I’ll explain in more detail what I mean by hitting the reset button and why it may mean turning the necessary corner to get to where you want in your internet SEO marketing.

Till tomorrow…

Sharing home business success,

Mia
