It’s always coldest in the parking lot

My marathon, and kick-ass friend once told me that “it’s always coldest in the parking lot” when we were discussing why I wasn’t running anymore. After investing 9 months training for my first marathon, I’d completed it, my muscles healed, but winter had set in and I stopped running altogether.

I was willing to let the cold of winter get in the way of staying fit… the fittest I’ve been… ever.

But then I got it back. I figured out why I didn’t like running in the cold. Not only did I hate the cold that hit my face the minute I stepped out my front door, but I had to bundle up, get myself motivated to go out and most importantly get over the voices that were telling me, “Are you crazy? It’s 35 degrees outside. It’ll snow if you go out to run!” Blah Blah Blah.

Yup.

We’ve all heard those voices whether we like to believe it or not.

It’s kind of like when we start anything new. A new business, a new marketing strategy, a new hair-cut, a new way of thinking. Or even re-new something that we know we can do well, but now buy the stories or little voices instead of feeling our soul’s true voice.

You know that voice too.

I’m talking about that one that is always present if you listen hard enough… The voice that may be momentarily drowned out by the louder “voices of doubt”, but which will rise to the top when you choose to listen over a long period of time.

It’s that voice, the one from our soul, our spirit, our purpose that will never die, only ignored. It may be tranquilized by the coldness or shunned into numbness, but it will never die while we still have breath yet to breathe.

That’s why it’s important to realize it’s always coldest in the parking lot. Once we stand in our commitment, whether it’s 35 degrees out or 75 degrees, we’re committed.

And isn’t it interesting that once we start going, it gets better. We feel better. Those little voices that told us we’re crazy and all the other stories start to settle down and maybe even chuckle at the act of your dedication, devotion, and commitment to yourself.

Get over the cold. Commit. Take action. It all gets better and you’ll feel so good for having done so.

Before I tell you how, let me tell
you how my morning started today.

I woke up around 8:30a this morning
knowing the brilliant lightening
and thunderstorms last night
left muggy and humid air.

I left the house around 9am and
felt pretty good considering my
ankle is still recovering from
an accident I had 3 weeks prior
where I rolled it.

Started at a good pace. Immediately
thought of what I was going to
accomplish today.

Thought about my SEO business and how
it often feels like the emotional
cycles I experience during my run.

Got wet with sprinklers, focused on
my running technique.

How often do we focus on our
business technique? How often
does starting a business feel
like we’re out of breath and having
to find our pace all over again.

Got to the canal and let my
border collie mix off his leash.
He loves that.

Business has been a journey. It’s
still a journey. I’m still so grateful
for all those obstacles along the way
and feeling out of breath at times.

Had to wait for traffic to pass
to cross a busy street and continue along
the canal. Patience is key.

I find that business has often times been
uphill for me. Sporadic, yet steady.
Knowing what my desired destination is,
yet feeling like it’s so far away.

Passed a woman on horseback… good
thing Bodie is on his leash.

How often do we get distracted my
our thoughts, new opportunities, of
self doubt?

I’m really feeling the heat now…
Coming up on the half way mark and
had to let Bodie off his leash.

Had to pass by piles of dirt
that earth movers had left behind
in their attempt to… what?

I have no idea… yet we got past them.

The turning point. Feels so good
because I know I’m half way there.
What about business? Have you turned
the corner?

Looked down at my speed and was amazed.
There’s no way I was trucking like that!
There must be a mistake.

Now I’m half way enjoying the heat, but
still feeling it.

Endurance is a funny thing. We almost
get immune to the heat. Almost.

Passed another runner with his dog.
Felt pretty good about myself…
Except that he was probably more than
twice my age.

Immediately had to leap while giving a
high pitched squeal as I passed what
could’ve been the largest spider I’ve
seen with my own eyes. Squealed because
it ran towards my foot as I ran past
rather than away.

Ran past a small bird in my path that
didn’t seem to want to fly away. I
assumed it was hurt and gave it ample
space. Beautiful thing with a yellow
breast.

And then it happened. My mind started
telling me I could still have a good
run if I stopped. The sun beat down hot.
I started thinking of stopping, just
a half a mile away from where I knew my
6 miles was finished.

I saw the last hill that signals only .10 miles
away from the finish. I literally was
ready to quit and start walking.

And then Justin Timberlake’s song,
lovestoned, started on my ipod.

THANK YOU!

Kickin’ beat. Kept me going. Finished!
Looked down at my GPS and low and behold
I ran 3 minutes faster than my fastest time.

How often are we ready to quit so close
to the finish?
Allow someone, something, Justin, anything
to give you that last push.
Then celebrate your victory.

I did. My best time ever.

A couple of weeks ago, Marie Forleo had a guest blogger by the name of Mama Gena. It was an amazing awakening for me as I have always felt there is a need for women to be more in touch with their feminine goddess.

And while my belief is shared not only by Marie and Mama Gena, I have noticed a profound “rise” in women’s self-awareness and ability to find their inner power.

I love it!

As I continue to come to peace with my true purpose in life, to empower women, I am finding many women communities to assist me and more importantly, where I can contribute to the vision of women like me.

I love it!

I wanted to share one of those communities with you. But first, here are a few beliefs I have that I have really solidified as of late:

There is no judgment of others, there is only judgment of yourself. What you criticize in others is what you criticize in yourself.
Pettiness keeps you from your goddessness
Each being is truly an amazing miracle and are in your life for a reason, to teach a lesson, to give you love or to give you awareness.
Everything happens for a reason. There are no accidents.
Together, women can heal the world!

SEO Marketing Tip #2

The first SEO marketing tip was about what type of links RULE! This tip is much more basic and is what makes SEO work. It’s back to the fundamentals.

If you get this right, you will be on your way to dominating Google and all the other search engines. But get this wrong, and you will NEVER be able to dominate.

It’s that important.

So what is it? It’s having the right anchor text and knowing the basics of html. HTML stands for hyper text markup language and it is how the computers read your website or any other information you put on the internet.

It’s not scary and it’s certainly something anybody can learn. In fact, I guarantee that by the end of this post, you will know the proper way to link each and every time no matter where you are posting links on the internet!

Anchor text and html is what tells the Search Engines what to do when they crawl your site.

This is so basic that most people overlook this. Don’t be like most people!

Hopefully by now, you know that I’m going to dish it to you straight up. No fluff.

So here’s how you do it. Figure out what keyword you want to dominate and then focus your SEO efforts on dominating only that keyword.

SEO marketing can be so complicated if you want it to be. Or it can be very simple. I’m going to show you the simple way.

Start with the right keyword and then FOCUS on that keyword for ALL of your linking.

The RIGHT way to link is by using your keyword in the anchor text. Say for example you want to dominate the keyword SEO marketing. The html would look like this:

The end result would look like this to the reader or customer:

(This may be too basic and if you know this already, then you should move onto my next post where I break down my system and how you can follow it to dominate the search engines quickly.)

But I’m telling you, this is fundamental in your SEO marketing efforts! If you do this wrong and put in more text like “Click here for SEO marketing tips”, like so many people do, you are diluting your linking power and NOT optimizing your SEO efforts!

Even worse, if you don’t use your keyword at all, then you are optimizing your site for the words that you have in your anchor text, like “click here”. (I guarantee you that your site will never rank for the keyword “click here” which has over 4 Billion competing websites!!!)

So many Web 2.0 properties like Squidoo, hubpages, etc will allow you to put links into your pages. Do them the correct way and your site will start to rise in the Search Engines. Do them wrong and you will never see your site rise.

Just like I said in SEO Marketing Tip #1, the higher the pagerank of the site you are putting your links on, the better and more powerful the link will appear to the Search engines.

Again, I’m going to be giving you pieces to my SEO marketing system… the same system I use to dominate the search engines every day.

But I cannot go out and do this for you. So start now. Commit now. Do it now.

Start linking the right way today.

Trash The Fuzzy Pink Bunny Slippers!!

I had a very candid conversation with my husband, JT last night and it all stemmed from something I heard on an audio from Tony Robbins while I was on a mountain bike ride yesterday afternoon.

On a side note, I love my bike rides… just me, my dog and usually Tony Robbins on my ipod. I get lost with Tony’s message and no matter how many times I listen, I always pick up something new from Tony’s wisdom.

Then I come home and share it with JT. He’s my sounding board and always has good feedback on my mini, and sometimes epic epiphanies.

Well yesterday, JT and I didn’t have time to talk about my latest realization right after my ride, but I had time to ponder them myself till we spoke last night.

I realized that in my efforts to simply my life and ulitmately success… I’m now going to focus on the two main driving principles in life… pain and pleasure.

I invite you to do the same if this makes sense for your life.

You see, I’ve known for a long time that I have a skill set that will pay me a 6 maybe even 7 figure annual income… SEO. I have a grasp on it and have seen evidence of my own success with SEO marketing with our various businesses.

But what has me paralyzed in pain lately rather than bliss and pleasure is that I haven’t yet seen sizable results from my skill set… At least not to the extent that I want.

And if I explore the pain and pleasure of what’s been holding me back from being the “uber” affiliate marketer I know I am, it’s been that I have this skill set that hasn’t proven to give me the monetary results that I want, but yet, on a grand scale causes a lot of pain in my life because it takes a lot of time and effort to achieve.

In the past, I have gotten massive pleasure out of dominating the search engines and that is what ultimately has driven me to become so certain in my skill set. I know that I can duplicate my success for anyone or any product.

But lately, I’ve realized that this pleasure is dulled by the pain of failure to see monetary results from all my efforts.

Are you following me?

SEO marketing takes time. It’s like working out or getting back in shape.

It takes organized effort.

It takes commitment.

It takes belief.

And it takes patience in order to see the results.

And even after you have applied all that, your mindset might still hold you back from attaining the results you really want.

So fast forward to my conversation with JT last night. He said something that was brilliant!

It’s the fuzzy pink bunny slippers…

I’ve been focused on trying to sell fuzzy pink bunny slippers for most of my 4-5 years marketing online…

I’ve been so scoped locked on this that I started to believe that my skill set that I have historically been paid 4 figures a month from private clients, doesn’t monetize when applied to affiliate marketing…

Why?

Because I’ve been too focused on the pain of the process rather than knowing that if I choose the right product and believe in my skill set, that I too will gain rabid customers.

My problem has been with conversion… not my SEO marketing process. If I don’t have a product that people want, they won’t buy. It’s that simple.

So hopefully you’ve gotten a taste of how shifting your focus and gaining some clarity in your processes will allow you to see your weakest link.

I think that we can agree that the first step to getting out of an opportunity addiction is to admit you have a problem. Well, without bloviating too much, my last post tells my frustrations, and my awareness that I’ve been addicted. In this post, I’ll tell you how I’m finding a solution.

In the past few months, I’ve been doing a LOT of soul searching… To illustrate my point, have you ever watch Runaway Bride with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere? I think most Pretty Woman fans are suckers for love stories that reunite the two of them again

Anyway, in the movie, she finds out that the real reason she is a “runaway bride” is because she has no idea what she likes, what she wants, or who she is.

Isn’t that what is truly at the bottom of any addiction? At the core, we’re all running away from something we don’t want to face…

So what finally brought Julia and Richard back together? Julia’s character had to do some serious soul searching to find out who she really is at the core.

Well I can tell you this. I haven’t discovered everything, but I’ve found enough. I know that I put my family first before myself and that is something I’m trying to reverse. I know that I love SEO because I see tangible results. I know that I don’t like building Network marketing businesses mainly because I don’t like whiners and I like to be behind the scenes.

I know that I love helping others if they are first willing to help themselves and are action takers.

I know that I follow through and follow up and I expect that of everyone that I work with.

And mostly, I know that I’m in this for the long haul because my dreams and aspirations are too big to ignore. No J.O.B will ever fulfill me the way owning my own business does nor will it ever pay me what I’m truly worth.

So here’s to being a strategic entrepreneur!

I admit it, I’m an addict…

This is no joke, I am dead serious. I’ve been wondering what my problem has been lately. I’ve had 4, going on 5 years of online experience and haven’t been able to get my sh1t in order.

Why?

I have finally admitted that I have this overwhelming addiction. Thanks to Rich Schefren, I came to grips with reality a couple of days ago and wanted to share it with you.

After all, the first step towards curing an addiction is to actually admit you have one. So with that, I admit that I have been addicted to being an opportunity seeker for the past 4 years.

Crap. This is been a huge break through for me because I’ve been wondering what I’ve been doing wrong. Why am I stuck in this incessant circle of finding a new opportunity, new product, new tactic, etc, but haven’t made the kind of money I want with any of them?

Why have I been in the 95% of business owners who are “failing” and not fulfilled?

Because I’m addicted to what the internet gurus dish out. I’m addicted to that feeling of finding that opportunity that “may be it”, that will make JT and I a lot of money… quickly.

I’m addicted to the feeling that I get when I buy a new internet marketing “course” or tactic that I believe will be the answer to our traffic issues, or to “add to our tool belt”.

I’m addicted to getting one more new course that may give me the answer I’ve been waiting for… how to make a six-figure income on auto-pilot! (Yeah right!!)

And I have to admit that I’m so sick of being addicted that I had to share the beginning of a new day with you.

You see, I read Rich Schefren’s business manifesto and went through a 2 part webinar series with him over the past couple of days and he peeled back the layer that I’ve been missing in my online business success.

I’ve been thinking like an opportunity seeker rather than a “strategic entrepreneur”. This may not mean much to you, but after reading his business manifesto, you will. And then you’ll be better able to see if which side of the success line you stand.

I highly recommend the business manifesto. It’ a must read for anyone who wants to break the mold of the 95% who fail online and finally reach the next level in their business. Rich has coached many of the online “gurus” and it’s no wonder that none of them want you to know about him and his teachings…

The main reason… because they want you to become addicts like the rest of the 95% and consume, consume, consume their materials… In other words, buy, buy, buy… I noted some of the symptoms of an addict before, but this is the most prominent one. (A hyper consumptive person who doesn’t make money because they’re so addicted to buying.)

Anyway, from here on out, if you have followed Rich Schefren’s Strategic Profits, you will know what I’m talking about, but I am dedicated to being a strategic entrepreneur.

I’m dedicated to looking at my vision for my business and only adding new tactics/course/products to my repertoire if they make sense to the overall picture and vision.

I’m dedicated to being coached and growing as a “strategic entrepreneur” that I add a few zeros to my net worth by next year!

And I’m dedicated to sharing my journey out of addiction with you.

Here’s a home business update..

Oh my gosh.. I apologize for the huge hiatus…
That’s really all I have to say about the whirlwind journey I’ve taken the past few months.

First of all, I want to say that I am still committed to giving you all that I know with SEO marketing.. And I promise to fulfill my end of the bargain.. and much more.

But it’s getting even better than I ever imagined! I want to share the journey with you because I have been learning some pretty cool stuff lately.

Did I tell you that I am now working with one of my mentor’s full time? It’s a dream come true because this person is where I want to be and definitely has the network in place to make a LOT happen.. for the good… and quickly.

Quite frankly, working with him has been my number one priority these days because I’m learning so much… and more importantly, I’m giving so much value!

That’s what I wanted to start my blogging back with.. It feels so good to be of value. I mean, isn’t that one of the 6 basic needs of a human, according to many experts.. to be significant?!

Well, if there’s anything I want to give you today, it’s this. Start asking yourself how you can add value to someone else’s business and watch your own business thrive!

Ask how you can help someone else… especially if that someone else is where you want to be someday soon.

Ok, I promise to give you some really awesome value that I’ve learned over the past couple of months that I’ve been away…

And to whet your appetite, I just figured out how to stream video like the Big Dawgs.. like Ryan Deiss, Frank Kern, Jeff Walker, to name a few..

SEO Marketing Tip #1

Here’s the first of many SEO Marketing techniques that got me to the first page of Google and that I will be sharing with you. I’m assuming that if you’re reading this, you already have some idea as to what SEO Marketing is…

Many people in the home business/network marketing industry “think” they know how to market, but if you don’t do it “on purpose” (with a true intention and known outcome), then you’re just spinning your wheels.

The reason I say this is because it took JT and I two and a half years before we found a true internet marketing expert… who was willing to teach us! Since then, I’ve been through 3 and a half years of “training” by network marketing companies and no one surpasses Lehman Hailey!

Before JT and I joined forces with Lehman to conquer Google, we were dabbling in email marketing and Pay Per Click advertising… both very expensive, and not very profitable methods for marketing our home businesses…

After thousands of dollars spent on Google Adwords and email marketing, Lehman introduced us to the world of SEO marketing, FREE marketing.

My world was forever changed.

So I’m going to give you one of the fundamental keys to SEO marketing today. There are so many important factors to understand, but this one is by far the most important.

(If this is the first time you’ve been introduced to what it really takes to, step-by-step, get to the top of Google, you may have to read this post multiple times… Feel free to come back as many times as you need to really get it down.)

Here’s the fundamental key to SEO marketing.

Google is NOT a person who has the luxury of independent thought.

Google is a search engine and search engines are run by algorithms. Algorithms can be mastered or loopholes can be found.

As long as you are human and Google is not, you will always have the ability to out-master and out-maneuver a Search Engine.

Ok, now that we got that out of the way. Let me introduce you to the one thing that Google (the Search Engine) REALLY Loves!

Links. And not just any link. One way links from high-authority sites.

You see, google or any search engine for that matter, because of their algorithms, act like a popularity contest. (Yes, we all thought we’d gotten away from that when we graduated High School!)

But with this popularity contest, you can literally master and dominate! How do I know? Because I’ve done it. Over and Over again.

The last time, I dominated 3.5 million websites and was #2 behind the actual company website (sometimes #1).

It’s not a mystery, it’s a science.. and I’m going to teach you everything I know.

So for today’s tip, the most important aspect of SEO marketing is one-way links to your site.

Tomorrow, I’ll give you more clarity as to the right way and the wrong way to link.

Believe me, these are the fundamentals, and if you ever want to be a master at SEO marketing, you have to master these first!

Discover the True Entrepreneur inside your home business

Today I’m going to Maui to relax and unwind.. but before I do, I promised to give you my definition of a True Entrepreneur.

First, I have to ask you a question. I’m going to be blatantly presumptuous here, so feel free to comment below if you want to comment.

I’m assuming you’re a network marketer.. and I’m assuming that you believe you’re an entrepreneur.

Well, here is the best definition I could find of an entrepreneur:
An entrepreneur is a person who has possession of an enterprise, or venture, and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks

When you’re a network marketer, you don’t assume accountability/responsibility for your enterprise or the inherent risks for it.

Ok, I’ll stop talking about you, because I’m really talking about the industry as a whole. Yesterday, I asked why only 5% succeeded?

And my answer is because only 5% are True Entrepreneurs in the sense that they take responsibility, accountability and assume the inherent risks for it.

When I looked at our business, at the people who were truly feeding us with the activity in their businesses, they were the people who led their teams, took responsibilities for their actions, and truly treated their home businesses like true business ventures… not like a hobby.

I found it increasingly interesting that even those people had additional income, either from a spouse still working, or a pension of some sort, there as a safety net to catch them “in case” their home business didn’t work out.

I’m not poking fun, because I was one of those people 2 years ago. I quit my job, but JT, my husband continued to serve our country for over a year. It was comfortable for me NOT to make any money in this industry and conduct my business like a hobby.

No! No! No!

I can say that with conviction now because I am now making what I deserve because I took back control. I finally said no more. No more business opportunities; no more “training” from anyone who was making less than what I wanted to make (these “fake” gurus); no more feeding into the hype and chasing shiny objects!

I had been assuming all the risks associated with my businesses, but a few months ago,

I finally took 100% responsibility for my business.

JT and I do not have part-time jobs. We are both True Entrepreneurs. We work from home and do not get paid unless we produce. That, my friends, is true responsibility!

Stay tuned… Tomorrow, I’ll be flying all day to Maui, but I’ll be crafting more Home Business Conspiracy theories…

Just kidding. I’ll finally start revealing the SEO marketing tips and methods I’ve applied to get to the top of Google… and more importantly, the same skills I use in my home business today to earn a very good living.
